Use of your Personal Information and Our Legal Basis for Collection and Retention
Orchards Cookery collects and uses your personal information to operate the Cookery School and to deliver the services we offer and that you expect and request from us. In order to run our courses and provide the recruitment services we offer we have a legitimate interest processing the data we collect. Collection of the data is necessary in order to provide you with the best possible experience and service whilst also ensuring we can run our business and to carry out analytics and research.
Orchards Cookery does not sell, rent or lease it’s customer lists to third parties or pass on customer details. The only time we pass information to third parties is when we send your CV (as requested by you) to people / organisations looking for staff / cooks.
If you choose to use our recruitment service, we will send your CV (and the personal information it contains) to organisations and private families who are looking for cooks. Once the information is passed on, it is then the responsibility of the third party to determine their lawful basis for their own processing. We therefore recommend that you should review their privacy policies.
If you do not wish your details to be shared in this capacity, you must tell us when you send your CV to us (as mentioned in our guidance emails which you will receive).

Orchards Cookery occasionally runs special offers and discounted prices which are only available to past customers (or their immediate family members) and such offers / discounts can only be processed and run if we have a record of who our customers are and their email addresses. If we remove your data from our systems, we will have no record of you and such offers and discounts will no longer be available to you.
Transfers outside the EEA (European Economic Area)
We do not transfer your personal information outside of the EEA.
Security and Retention
Protecting your information is of great importance to us, and we have put in place suitable physical, electronic and managerial procedures to safeguard any information we collect from you.
We hold your information for as long as we have a business need to do so, or for as long as is necessary for the relevant service.
As we are able to secure special offers from some suppliers and run occasional special offers ourselves from time to time, which are only available to past Orchards Cookery students / guests who have been on courses (or their immediate families), we need to keep a record of our past customers, the vast majority of whom have stayed at The Orchards. If we remove your data we have no way of verifying who our past customers are / were and therefore such special offers / discounts will no longer be available to past customers who’s records have been deleted.
