This is the Privacy Policy for Orchards Cookery Ltd (henceforth we, us, Orchards Cookery) and www.orchardscookery.co.uk. The purpose of this policy is to inform you on how we collect and use your information when you book onto on a course with us and / or use our website. By booking onto a course and / or using our website, you consent to the data practises described in this statement. Orchards Cookery is committed to being fair and transparent about how it collects, uses and protects your personal information.
Collection of Personal Information
Orchards Cookery collects personally identifiable information, including, but not limited to; your name, email address, home address, telephone number, and date of birth. We also collect, where applicable, some medical and health information, including food allergies, special requirements and educational needs you may have, to ensure your safety and that of other students, and to ensure that you fully benefit from the course.
With the recruitment service we offer, we may also collect your CV, employment and educational history, qualifications, skills, experience and training and your job search criteria.
We also collect anonymous demographic information, which is not unique to you, such as your post code, gender, interests and preferences etc.
We collect all of this information directly from you when you use our website and sign up to attend any of our courses and / or send us your CV for help with recruitment.
Credit / Debit Card Details
We do not keep any records of your credit / debit card details within our organisation in any form, either written, electronically or in a database. Once you enter you details online, the transaction is processed via our payment processer and no card details are recorded by us.
When you make a payment to Orchards Cookery over the telephone, your credit card details are processed in the same way by our telephone operators and no record of your financial details are retained by Orchards Cookery.
Use of your Personal Information and Our Legal Basis for Collection and Retention
Orchards Cookery collects and uses your personal information to operate the Cookery School and to deliver the services we offer and that you expect and request from us. In order to run our courses and provide the recruitment services we offer we have a legitimate interest processing the data we collect. Collection of the data is necessary in order to provide you with the best possible experience and service whilst also ensuring we can run our business and to carry out analytics and research.
Orchards Cookery does not sell, rent or lease it’s customer lists to third parties or pass on customer details. The only time we pass information to third parties is when we send your CV (as requested by you) to people / organisations looking for staff / cooks.
If you choose to use our recruitment service, we will send your CV (and the personal information it contains) to organisations and private families who are looking for cooks. Once the information is passed on, it is then the responsibility of the third party to determine their lawful basis for their own processing. We therefore recommend that you should review their privacy policies.
If you do not wish your details to be shared in this capacity, you must tell us when you send your CV to us (as mentioned in our guidance emails which you will receive).
We also store your personal information to meet legal and tax obligations relating to the running of the business. Orchards Cookery will disclose your personal information, without notice, only if required to do so by law, or in good faith that such action is necessary to: (a) comply with the law or legal process served on Orchards Cookery or this website; (b) protect and defend the rights or property of Orchards Cookery; and (c) act under urgent circumstances to protect the personal safety of Orchards Cookery, it’s staff, customers or members of the public.
Orchards Cookery occasionally runs special offers and discounted prices which are only available to past customers (or their immediate family members) and such offers / discounts can only be processed and run if we have a record of who our customers are and their email addresses. If we remove your data from our systems, we will have no record of you and such offers and discounts will no longer be available to you.
Transfers outside the EEA (European Economic Area)
We do not transfer your personal information outside of the EEA.
Security and Retention
Protecting your information is of great importance to us, and we have put in place suitable physical, electronic and managerial procedures to safeguard any information we collect from you.
We hold your information for as long as we have a business need to do so, or for as long as is necessary for the relevant service.
As we are able to secure special offers from some suppliers and run occasional special offers ourselves from time to time, which are only available to past Orchards Cookery students / guests who have been on courses (or their immediate families), we need to keep a record of our past customers, the vast majority of whom have stayed at The Orchards. If we remove your data we have no way of verifying who our past customers are / were and therefore such special offers / discounts will no longer be available to past customers who’s records have been deleted.
Your Rights
You have a number of rights with regards to your information. In some circumstances you can:

· Require us to amend incorrect or incomplete information;
· Require us to stop collecting or delete your information;
· Object to the way we are processing your information;

CCTV
Orchards Cookery has a CCTV system in place on site at the school. The images are only used in strict accordance with this policy and are retained for up to 30 days.
The Directors are responsible for the operation of the system and for ensuring compliance with this policy.
The system comprises of: Fixed position cameras.
Cameras are located in the kitchens and public areas. No camera is hidden from view.
Staff, students and visitors are notified of the use of CCTV by prominently placed signs at strategic points and at the entrance point of the site and around the site.
The system has been installed by Orchards Cookery for the benefit of enhanced security and safety for the students attending courses, staff and the general public. The system is not used to provide recorded images for the world-wide-web or to record sound.
In the event of an incident with legal or safety implications, CCTV recordings may be stored for as long as is necessary to meet any legal obligations arising. In such an event, you will be notified of your involvement and that the recording will be stored as soon as practicably possible.

Our website contains links to third party websites and services. Please note that when you use a link to go from our website to another website, or you request a service from a third party, this Privacy Policy no longer applies.
