Terms and Conditions
Reservations and Payments
Availability of the courses change daily. A place can be provisionally reserved for five working days, over the telephone or by returning the application form by email or by post. Confirmation of the booking is made on receipt of a non-refundable deposit of £60. (We do not accept credit cards).

If the balance of fees is not received by the due date (four weeks before the start of the course) the reservation will be deemed to have been cancelled.

Cancellations
If you wish to cancel your confirmed reservation you must do so in writing. If you cancel within the four week period prior the start of your course you will be responsible for the full payment of the remaining course fees, unless you, or we find an alternative booking, in which case the deposit only will be forfeited.

Students are advised to take out their own insurance against cancellation for any reason outside their control.

We reserve the right to cancel (only as a last resort when faced with unavoidable circumstances), make any alterations to our courses, dates, fees and accommodation where necessary, at our discretion. All enrolled students will be notified immediately of any changes.

Terminations
We reserve the right to terminate the training of any student without reimbursement of fees if the student is guilty of unreasonable or improper conduct.

If you terminate during the course you are not entitled to the return of fees.

Health & Safety
There are one or two house rules which we enforce in the interests of your health and safety.
Excessive drinking and the use of illegal drugs is not permitted.

We expect you to report and pay for any damages and breakages where appropriate.

For working in the kitchen we suggest you wear lightweight clothing, long hair is held back and comfortable, non-slip shoes with covered toes are worn on your head! (Just checking you haven’t dozed off!)

Please advise us at the time of booking of any dietary requirements, food allergies or religious beliefs that may effect your eating behaviour. We are unable to tailor our course content for special dietary requirements, but we are happy to make arrangements where possible to enable students to take part in the course. We regret that we are unable to accept students with severe nut allergies as nuts are used in the kitchens. Please telephone to discus.

If you have a pacemaker: some of our hobs in the kitchens are induction hobs. The areas immediately surrounding the hobs are electromagnetically charged and this could affect a pacemaker. Please ask the manufacturer of your pacemaker or advice from your doctor.

Property belonging to our students is brought to The Orchards at their own risk. We accept no responsibility for any loss or damage. Neither do we accept liability for personal injury except as imposed by statute.
